Freddy OPSOMER MRE

Freddy OpsomerFreddy Opsomer was born in 1955 and lives with his family in Antwerp Belgium;
He has a Master degree in Real Estate Management from the University of Antwerp;
He was co-founder of the Belgian Chapter of the Urban Land association.
He was also the co-founder and is past president of the largest Belgian real estate network: the Real estate society (RES).

Was over the last 6 years commercial manager of Euro Immo Star NV; a property development company belonging to the Belgian National Railways (see www.eurostation.be; www.euroimmostar.be);

Served as Process Manager between the City government of Antwerp and the National Railway Holding for the new high speed train terminal and other railway projects in Antwerp;

Is currently in association with the Belgian National Railways developing business in Central Eastern Europe: especially the development of "rail estate" (commercially orientated multifunctional railway stations and – terminals ).

Besides the expertise from the Belgian Railways; he works with investors in order to offer complete solutions for structuring railway terminals into DFBO (Design, Finance , Build, Operate) schemes. Amongst his private clients figure:

  • Fordgate Group a large private property conglomerate ( Moises and Mendi GERTNER) (total property assets over 1,2 Bn £); The group is an equity partner (amongst others: Siemens, CCECC) in the 23 km long Red line metro project of Tel Aviv;
  • Jacob SCHIMMEL – IBD group ( the largest industrial holding in Israel );
  • Freshwater group of companies (amongst them Daejan Holdings Plc – assets above £ 1 Bn )

He is actually the President of the Board of Directors of the Free Economic Zone of Kaunas Lithuania (www.ftz.lt) . This free zone opened in the beginning of 2007 the largest logistic warehouse complex of Lithuania. Nedw projects are under study in Russia, Ukraine , UAE, Bulgaria, Poland .
